Vorsteiner Porsche Cayman GT4 Layered Graphics

Vorsteiner Porsche Cayman GT4 Layered Graphics

Bold branding graphics for a bold brand on a beautiful Porsche Cayman GT4.

This Porsche 981 Cayman GT4 done up for Vorsteiner features the same graphics we did for the Vorsteiner BMW i8 but in a different color scheme. The wrap is done in layers for the ultimate in fit and the richest colors possible.

Layered wraps pose a whole set of challenges that a single layer printed vinyl wrap does not. In essence, they are a lot more time-consuming to perform. This is because you are applying much more film than you would on a single-layer wrap. You also have to make sure each layer is lined-up correctly and that everything fits and looks the way it should. The result however is that you get much richer colors than you do with a single layer printed wrap. The process is a lot more like it has been for layered vinyl for other applications, such as race cars.

The downside is that cost for a layered wrap is usually higher. Additionally, you don’t get the smooth, single-layer finish. The end result will have have some lines and seams in the areas where the vinyl start or overlaps other layers.

In many cases there is a legitimate merit to going with layers, such as the case with this Cayman GT4. The resulting car wrap is stunning and matches the branding very well. The GT4 and the i8 look like they belong together without having to wear the exact same colors. While cost may be higher, the results speak for themselves. Now, don’t think that layering is the only way you will get such results. We can print a wrap like this and get very similar results. In the end, it all depends on your needs, expectations and budget.

About the 981 Porsche Cayman GT4

The 981 Cayman GT4 is a Cayman with a 911 heart. The car features the 3.8-Liter flat-six from the 991 Carrera S. With this car, Porsche has reduced the gap between the 911 and the Cayman like never before. The Cayman GT4 is even more powerful than the Cayman GTS, with 45 more horsepower. That’s 385 horsepower. Ah, but there’s the catch. It might be the same engine as the 991 Carrera S, but it still makes 15 less hp when in the Cayman.

The car looks the part too. In a way, it looks a lot like a 991 GT3 – Or even to such extent as the 991 GT3 RS. On big thing to mention is that it comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. Truly a car for the purists.
